In addition to research, the Manitoba Bat Blitz seeks to educate and excite the public about local bat species, their importance and their conservation. Our speakers have been invited to present to a wide range of audiences from wildlife enthusiasts to students in classrooms across Manitoba. The lectures cover a wide-range of topics from biodiversity and ecology of bats to conservation and the impact of white-nose syndrome on bat populations in Canada. Through these efforts, the Manitoba Bat Blitz seeks inspire the public to become active in bat conservation.
